GJB 8/11/07 - Recorded in concert on August 11, 2007 at Music Mountain in Falls village, CT, features Jim Fryer and Bob Price. During the five years since Jim’s 2002 performance with the GJB at Music Mountain he has become even more of an international jazz star, appearing at festivals and on jazz cruises regularly with the Titan Hot Seven as well as with the top bands in Manhattan. In spite of his very busy schedule Jim has continued to accept engagements with the GJB whenever he can. We were pleased that Jim and Bob Price, the “Banjo Crackerjack”, were both willing and able to join us in August of 2007 for another Music Mountain concert. Bob was also with us at our 2002 concert, but has since moved to Florida. Bob returns to Connecticut occasionally to visit old friends and to make a little music. The title tune of this CD, "Ory’s Creole Trombone", also appears on the 2002 recording, which is long out of print. Listeners lucky enough to own both CDs will notice a fresh approach in the 2007 version; the old tunes never get stale when Jim and Bob are with us.
