On Saturday, May 10 the Civic Orchestra of New Haven will give an 8 PM concert at Batelle Chapel, located at the corner of Elm and College Streets in New Haven. The Connecticut Symphonic Band will present an all-John Williams concert at 3 PM on Thursday, May 18 in the auditorium of Roger Ludlowe Middle School in Fairfield, CT. On Thursday, June 5 several members of the GJB will perform as the "Heartbeat Dixieland Jazz Band" with Skip Hughes from 7 to 10 PM at Oliver's Taverne in Essex. Dinners and drinks are available, and there is a nice dance floor. The band will return on the first Thursday of every month thereafter until further notice. MAP & DIRECTIONS: On Sunday, June 8 there will be a free outdoor concert from noon to 3 PM at the gazebo by the firehouse in Old Saybrook featuring Jon Seiger on trumpet and vocals, Russ Whitman, Carol Leigh, New York trombonist Harvey Tibbs, Mississippi pianist Sam Gore, Art Hovey on bass, and John Russell on drums. Bill Logozzo's Heartbeat Jazz Band has been invited to return the St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Cheshire for another Mardi Gras service and hot lunch party on February 22, 2009.
