  • Come and enjoy a weekly Jazz Lunch with Fred Vigorito, Noel Kaletsky, Bill Sinclair, Art Hovey, and Bill Logozzo every Wednesday from 11:30 am until 1 pm at the Yankee Clipper, located at 157 West Main Street in Niantic. (860-739-9634) It's just a short distance from I-95 Exit 72, the Rocky Neck Connector. Seating is first-come-first-served; no reservations are required. This Wednesday (July 28) Bob Price will be there, along with Jane Campedelli!   • On Thursday, August 7 Bill Logozzo's Heartbeat Dixieland Jazz Band will return to Oliver's Taverne , located at 112 Westbrook Road in Essex. The band this time will include Bill Logozzo, Bill Sinclair, Art Hovey, Sherman Kahn, and Bob Price! Dinners and drinks are available, and there is a nice dance floor. The band will return on the first Thursday of every month until further notice. With your help we can keep this going.

  • On June 10 (2010) the Heartbeat Dixieland Jazz Band performed with Skip Hughes at the Tuskan Restaurant, located at 115 Main Street in Ivoryton, CT. All proceeds from this event go to Paul Newman's Hole In The Wall Gang Camp.
  • On May 23 (2010) the Heartbeat Jazz Band with Dianne Mower performed in a 9:45am service at the First Baptist Church of West Hartford, located at 90 North Main Street in West Hartford.

  • On March 13 (2010) the Heartbeat Jazz Band performed in a fund-raising concert for Skip and Joyce Hughes at the First Church of Christ, 190 Court Street in Middletown, CT. The band for this occasion included Fred Vigorito, Noel Kaletsky, Dr. John Clark, Skip Hughes himself, Charlie Freeman, Gim Burton, Art Hovey, Bill Logozzo, and vocalist Diane Mower. The concert was recorded in both audio and video by 1080 Sounds, Connecticut's premiere outfit for on-site recording; CDs and DVDs are now available. Marce Enright wrote a nice review of the concert in her New England Trad Jazz Journal.

  • On February 14, 2010, (Valentine's day!) Bill Logozzo's Heartbeat Dixieland Jazz Band performed for a 10:30 am service followed by a Mardi Gras Gumbo lunch at Saint Peter's Episcopal Church, located at 59 Main Street in Cheshire, CT. The band included Fred Vigorito, Noel Kaletsky, Skip Hughes Art Hovey, vocalist Diane Mower, and Andy Barnett, a wonderful young pianist. Review of Diane's most recent appearance with the band:
  • On February 7 (2010 the Heartbeat Band presented a Mardi Gras concert at the new Middletown High School, sponsored by the MHS Performing Arts Center.

  • On February 24 (2009) the Heartbeat Jazz Band performed for a special Mardi Gras night party at the Public Bar & Grill, located at 337 Main Street in Middletown, CT. The phone number is 860-343-8850.
  • Chicago Hot Six East Coast Tour: On Saturday, May 16 (2009) Roy Rubinstein's Chicago Hot Six with Sarah Spencer and Art Hovey performed for the Potomac River Jazz Club at the Rockville Elks Club, 5 Taft Court, in Rockville, Maryland.
    On Sunday, May 17 the band performed for the Pennsylvania Jazz Society at the Easton Moose Club, 3320 Fox Hill Road, in Easton, PA.
    Then on Monday, May 18 the band performed for Rochester's Flower City Jazz Society at the Green Lantern Inn, 1 East Church Street, in Fairport, NY.
  • On June 7 (2009) there was a free outdoor concert from noon to 3 PM at the gazebo by the firehouse in Old Saybrook by the "Over-The-Hill Jazz Band", featuring Jon Seiger on trumpet and vocals, Russ Whitman, Carol Leigh, trombonist Jim Fryer, Mississippi pianist Sam Gore, Art Hovey on bass, and John Russell on drums. Molly and Emma Sayles from the Sugarfoot Jazz Band also joined us for a few numbers.
  • On Saturday, June 13 the Heartbeat Jazz Band presented a 7 PM concert at the First Congregational Church, 190 Court Street in Middletown. It was a fundraiser for the Great Connecticut Traditional Jazz Festival, with Sherman Kahn, Noel Kaletsky, Art Hovey, Bill Sinclair, Bill Logozzo, Fred Vigorito, Skip Hughes, and Cynthia Fabian. This concert was recorded and a CD will be produced.
